How can I change my username or password?
You can now update your profile information online @ www.where.com/local.
- Click on the “Log in” link that appears at the top right of the page.
- Log in using the same information used when you registered with WHERE.
- Click on the “My Placebook” tab
- Click on “Manage Account Settings”
- Make any changes you want to your profile information
- Click “Update”
Your profile information will be updated on your Mobile device as well!
How do I register to leave reviews, write on the WHERE Wall, and receive exclusive WHERE updates?The first time you select the option to write a comment on the WHERE Wall or leave a comment in WHERE Reviews you will be prompted to register with WHERE. It’s a great way to make sure you always know what’s going on in WHERE – so we can help you discover what’s going on around you!
How do you play the “Guess WHERE” game?Move your phone around so that the gliding bubble with the red WHERE icon bounces off of the sides of your screen. See how long you can keep the WHERE bubble from colliding with the YP.com bubble. Try to beat your own record!
When those two bubbles do collide, GuessWHERE will suggest a new restaurant for you to journey to. You can play a game AND figure out where to go for lunch.
How do I update my location?Tap the address across the bottom of the WHERE home screen or the circular compass in the bottom right of the home screen.
Can I use WHERE to share my location with friends?Yes. Click on the rectangular compass symbol on the bottom right of your WHERE homepage, then you can send a map of your location via email or SMS text message to whomever you like!
How can I change the gas grade WHERE searches for?On your WHERE home screen, long click (press and hold) the gas pump icon to change the gas grade.
Can I correct information about a business or restaurant?Yes, click on the “Flag Venue Incorrect” button on the WHERE page for the business or restaurant you want to edit.
What are the symbols in the bottom right of the WHERE homepage?The circular compass symbol lets you reset your location on WHERE. The rectangular compass symbol lets you share information about where you are with your friends either through email or an SMS text message.
Can I change my local search provider on my WHERE home screen?Yes. Take a closer look at the search box on the top of your WHERE home screen. Directly to the right of the box is a YP.com icon. By tapping that icon you can switch between searching via YP.com and WHERE reviews.
So how do you know where I am?WHERE uses three different methods to locate you. First, we quickly find what cell tower you are connected to and set that as your location. Next, you can choose to turn on GPS to find a more precise location. If you prefer, you even have the third option to self report your location.
