How can I change my username or password?

You can now update your profile information online @ www.where.com/local.

  • Click on the “Log in” link that appears at the top right of the page.
  • Log in using the same information used when you registered with WHERE.
  • Click on the “My Placebook” tab
  • Click on “Manage Account Settings”
  • Make any changes you want to your profile information
  • Click “Update”

Your profile information will be updated on your Mobile device as well!

What does Clear Cache do when clicked on the home screen menu?

Clear Cache will clear all saved data that WHERE has saved on your device.

Can I add search results to my contacts?

Yes. With the RIM version of WHERE you can tap the “Save” button on each restaurant/business page that will send that venue’s contact information directly into your phone’s address book.

How do I update my location?

To change your location go to Menu – Set My Location. There you can change your address either manually (using an address, zip code or city and state) or using GPS.

WHERE is unable to get a GPS location, how can I fix this?

If GPS doesn’t seem to be working check to make sure you have all your permissions set correctly to ‘Allow’ for the WHERE application. You can check this by going to Options – Advanced – Applications – WHERE – Permissions.

How do I register to leave reviews, write on the WHERE Wall, and receive exclusive WHERE updates?

The first time you select the option to write a comment on the WHERE Wall or leave a comment in WHERE Reviews you will be prompted to register with WHERE. It’s a great way to make sure you always know what’s going on in WHERE – so we can help you discover what’s going on around you!

I entered a full street address manually, but the street number appears incorrect. What’s going on?

When you enter a Location manually, WHERE tries to Geocode it and link it to a latitude/longitude coordinate. However, it is not uncommon for a Geocoded (lat, lng) rounded to 6-8 decimal places to be slightly off. This may result in the street address being slightly off, such as “58 Canal Street” instead of “60 Canal Street”, which is not uncommon behavior in GPS-based applications.
