What is WHERE?
WHERE allows you to quickly launch a mobile experience that puts the people, places and things you are looking for at your fingertips. This includes everything from weather, news, and restaurant reviews, to the closest coffee shop, cheapest gas, traffic updates, movie show times and more.
How accurate is my GPS location in WHERE?Typically, GPS is accurate to within a city block of your current physical location. If you are indoors (or in an obstructed location) or your network provider is having problems, your GPS location may only be accurate to your current city area; in a worst-case scenario, if your provider got an Assisted GPS Fix, your location may only be accurate to the nearest cell tower.
If you feel your GPS location is inaccurate, the best thing you can do is restart WHERE and try again. You can also try disabling GPS on your handset and entering your location manually (when prompted).
What is a WHERE widget?Widgets are applications that help you find interesting things and do everyday tasks. WHERE Widgets usually access your GPS phone location to determine where you are. Examples of widgets are local Weather, News, Eventful and Gas Prices.
The WHERE application comes with several widgets pre-installed. You can download additional widgets at www.WHERE.com or from within the WHERE application on your phone through the ‘Manage Widgets’ menu.
Why does WHERE collect my email address and phone number on the m.where.com website?WHERE collects your phone number on the web site so we know which phone you are using when you manage your widgets. Some widgets may also use your phone number to send you opt-in text message alerts about things you’ve chosen to hear about.
WHERE collects your email address as an extra layer of security so that you can request a new password or PIN. We may also send you occasional emails regarding system updates. At times, we may also send you notice of new features unless you choose to opt-out of marketing communications.
