GPS Twitter Widget

Eric | March 28, 2007

Yup, you’ve heard about Twitter. It’s everywhere these days. You may already be a member, or, perhaps you’re on the fence about how useful it is. Well, we’ve gone and made it GPS. Now you post GPS enabled tweets, so there’s no more guessing the zip code of your current location. Then your friends can see both desktop and mobile map views of your tweet. Cool, huh? So get off that fence, if you’re on it, and add GPS Twitter to your WHERE widget library.

Happy St Patrick’s Day

Eric | March 17, 2007

Happy Saint Patrick’s Day from the WHERE team. In honor of the occasion, we’ve released the Irish Pub finder. So, grab some bangers and a pint or two (or, you know, more) and enjoy! Erin go bragh or something.

Zillow Widget

Eric | March 16, 2007

You may have already read Zillow’s post on the subject, so needless to say, we’re very excited to have a Zillow Widget on WHERE. I think Mark Eamer over at Zillow put it best in his post:

Imagine going for a walk and having Zillow information at your fingertips as you discuss home values in your neighborhood. Or even better, imagine going into an open house and in less thanz 10 seconds knowing the Zestimate of that property.

Yup, it’s true with a few clicks and a little typing, you can get the value of any address in your neighborhood.

Eventful on WHERE

Eric | March 15, 2007

We’re very happy to have an Eventful.com widget on WHERE. Imagine being border (hard, I know) sitting in a bar (harder still, probably) and wondering where the nearest live act is. It’s simple with the Eventful.com widget. Just click on “Music” and Eventful’s extensive catalogue of local concerts are immediately available. Cool, huh? You get that, an the ability to search their entire event database for the events local to you when you add the Eventful Events widget to your WHERE.

WHERE and Developer Program launched!

Matt | March 14, 2007

This morning, WHERE went official. We’re currently live on 6 Sprint handsets and will be on another 11 handsets next week. And if you’re phone isn’t on the list, we’ll be supporting additional carriers and many more handsets very soon.

Most importantly, developers can now build their own GPS Widget and launch it on WHERE. You can build your widget using your own programming language and environment, no mobile development experience is required. And it’s free. We have documents and samples at our WHERE Developer site.
