A Closer Look at WHERE’s new Widgets - Flickr & Local Notes
The WHERE 1.1 iPhone went live in the iTunes App store last week and was met with great reviews from users. The more vibrant map tiles and new widgets have greatly enhanced the user experience. We thought it might be a good time to take a closer look at the two new widgets available on the iPhone.
Local Notes

Local Notes is a new widget which allows you to leave notes about a location for everyone to view.
How to write a local note:
1. Touch down on your location and go to the list view.
2. Tap on “Add New Note”
3. Type in your note and hit “Save”
4. Go back to the map view and your note will be in red.
FlickPics

Flickpics gives you a photographic window to the world around you, with photos geotagged by other Flickr members.
To see images geotagged in your local area.
1. Go to the Flickr widget
2. Click on the list view at the top right corner.
3. Voila, you will see a grid view of all the pics tagged in that geographic location.
Part of our commitment to users is an enhanced GPS user experience. If you have any feedback or have an idea for a widget, find us on Facebook or follow us on Twitter and let us know your thoughts.
Now you can get some of your favorite widgets from WHERE on your iPhone and iPod Touch! With widgets like Yelp, GasBuddy, Starbucks, Eventful, Buddy Beacon, and more, WHERE gives iPhone users the ability to discover nearby friends, places and things of interest. WHERE uses the location capabilities of the iPhone and iPod Touch to determine where you are, then finds what you’re looking for around your location. So now you can add the iPhone to the list of over 80 handsets that WHERE supports. Pretty cool, huh? Read more about it in our press release
